How to Choose and Install Wheel Covers Like a Pro
Ready to give those bare steel rims a makeover? Wheel covers are the perfect way to add some flair to any ride. Here’s a quick guide to picking and installing them without breaking a sweat.
Determine Rim Size
Check out the tyres for the rim size. Look for a number that looks something like “195/65 R15.” The number right after the “R” is the rim size you need.

Choose the Cover
Now it’s time to browse the styles available in that size. Remember, wheel covers come in sets of four, so pick a style that vibes with the car.

Position the Ring
Unbox those new covers and grab a metal retainer ring for each one. Check out the back of the wheel cover—one of those legs will have two slots. Slide one end of the ring into the upper slot, then fit the ring into the other legs. Finally, loop it back around and insert the other end into the same slot you started with.

Remove Any Current Covers
Grab a flathead screwdriver and pry off any old wheel covers. Check the new cover for a cutout that fits around the valve stem—some covers might not have this. Align the cover with the valve stem and give it a gentle tap using a rubber mallet to secure it in place.

Make Necessary Adjustments
If the wheel covers slip on too easily, they might be too loose. Adjust the retention ring by moving one end into the lower slot to tighten things up. Tired of those plain steel rims? Swing by Supercheap Auto and hook up a fresh set of wheel covers to make that ride shine.
